Dubai South is a government-led master development in the Jebel Ali area, built around Al Maktoum International Airport and now also home to Expo City Dubai, the permanent legacy district of Expo 2020. Dubai South Properties, the residential arm of the master developer, launched its flagship residential neighbourhood, The Pulse, in February 2021, with freehold apartments, townhouses, and villas aimed at mid-to-high-income households.

As one of Dubai's newer, more affordable freehold districts, Dubai South's appeal is largely forward-looking: proximity to the second airport, Expo City's mixed-use urban core, and long-term infrastructure investment, rather than an established, fully built-out community today.

Getting around

Dubai South is connected to the Expo Metro station (on the Route 2020 Red Line extension) via a public bus route rather than a station within the residential district itself, so most day-to-day travel is by car. It sits close to Al Maktoum International Airport and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, giving reasonable access across Dubai despite being further from the traditional coastal and central clusters.

The draw is largely about what's being built around the community: Expo City Dubai's mixed-use core, the second airport's long-term expansion, and Etihad Rail connectivity are all planned to grow the district substantially over the coming years. Day-to-day life today centres on The Pulse's retail boulevard and a large hypermarket, with parks and sports courts covering recreation. It suits buyers and investors taking a longer-term view on the area's growth over residents wanting an established, fully amenitised community right now.
