Dubai Creek Harbour Area Guide
Dubai Creek Harbour is a roughly 6-square-kilometre waterfront master plan developed jointly by Emaar Properties and Dubai Holding, on the banks of Dubai Creek between Downtown Dubai/Business Bay and Dubai International Airport, next to the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary. Announced in 2013, it's roughly twice the footprint of Downtown Dubai and organized into districts including Creek Island, Creek Beach, The Cove, and Green Gate, plus a retail district anchored by the planned Dubai Square mall.
It's often pitched as "the next Downtown" given the skyline ambition and Emaar pedigree, but that only holds for part of the master plan so far: Creek Island (Dubai Creek Residences, Creek Horizon, Creek Edge, Address Harbour Point, Palace Residences) and most of the Creek Beach lagoon cluster are delivered and occupied, while other districts — including the area around the planned Dubai Creek Tower and Dubai Square — are still under construction or at the tender stage. Worth checking a specific sub-community's completion status rather than assuming the whole master plan is finished.
Getting around
Dubai Creek Harbour has no metro station directly inside the master plan; the nearest options are Creek Metro Station (Green Line) and Al Jadaf, a drive or taxi ride away, plus a marine transport station for water-taxi links along the creek. Ras Al Khor Road (E44) borders the development, giving reasonably fast access to Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, and Dubai International Airport — but this is currently a car-dependent community rather than a walk-to-the-metro one.
Living in Dubai Creek Harbour
The appeal is waterfront skyline living at a lower price per sqft than Downtown Dubai or Palm Jumeirah, with views across the creek toward the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary's flamingo colony on one side and the Downtown skyline on the other. Creek Beach's lagoon and boardwalk cover day-to-day outdoor space, and Dubai Square — Emaar's planned mega-mall, relaunched in late 2025 and targeted for around 2028 — is meant to eventually anchor retail for the whole district. Because large parts of the master plan, including Dubai Creek Tower itself, are still being built out, it suits buyers comfortable with a still-developing area in exchange for earlier pricing more than those wanting a fully finished neighbourhood today.
