Downtown Dubai is Emaar's flagship district, built around Burj Khalifa — the world's tallest building, completed in 2010 — and The Dubai Mall, which opened in 2008. Emaar first announced the master plan in 2003, and the area has since become the city's most recognizable skyline and its most expensive per-sqft residential address.

Living here means paying for the address as much as the apartment: Downtown carries some of the highest price-per-sqft in Dubai, in exchange for walking access to the mall, the Dubai Fountain, and one of the most direct metro connections in the city.

Getting around

Downtown Dubai is served by Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station on the Red Line, one of the busiest stations on the network, with a direct air-conditioned walkway link into The Dubai Mall. Business Bay station is also within reach for the district's southern edge. Sheikh Zayed Road runs alongside Downtown, making it a fast drive to DIFC, Business Bay, and Dubai Marina.
